Hmmm...I also just purchased a 2006 9-3 and my brakes are having problems as well...the car only has 14k miles on it and the dealer told me my brakes are completely shot and need a replacement! Oh, and they are NOT covered under the bumper-to-bumber warranty because they allegedly wore out from corrossion. Anyway, I just ordered the new brakes and I am waiting to have them installed, hoping to improve the poor braking problem. I sure hope that the $450 fixes this trouble.
