My wife has a 2005 9-3 linear with 25000 miles on it, the dealer said that the rear pads and rotors need to be replaced at a cost of $500.

I called the dealer and asked why the rear wore out before the fronts, he said the brakes are redisigned and that is not unusual.

I asked why the rotors need to be replaced, he said because they are made so thin that they can not be turned.

This sure sounds like planned obselesence to me.

Anyway, is there anyone who has posted a good site for instructions on doing this job, I think Ill go ahead and just do the pads and see how they feel??
