The car is not blowing any blue smoke on start up. I had that happen 3000 miles into a new 2001, 9-3 I purchased, and it turned out to be a faulty turbo.
I assume the car had 0-30 synthetic oil because the oil had been changed at a Saab dealer before I purchased it, and that's what the manual specs. The dealer that checked the car for oil leaks put in 10w-40 full synthetic oil.
Is the 10-40 a slight of hand by the dealer to keep the car from leaking oil, or does the oil weight make no difference once it is heated up?
