I drove one yesterday, and the salesman pointed out that it does ride a little higher than the FWD Aero. He said he could feel it getting in and out of the car, and he owns a 2008 FWD Aero so he would know. You can see a slightly wider gap at the top of the wheel well. It looks like less than an inch, probably around three quarters of an inch.
I haven't driven a 2008 FWD Aero in a while, but my sense is that the XWD has a little more float over undulations, and very slightly more body roll. It's not a huge difference, and the handling is great even if it's not razor sharp.
