a total POS car that was, as an indy SAAB mechanic once put it "not very well thought out". Sorry you ended up buying one and good luck on your search for the utimate "maintenance free" vehicle. Please tell us when you've found it.
My last two Hondas were far from maintenance-free (particularly brake rotors warping regularly, CV joints failing, bearings, tie rods, body rust) and one had early valve wear/tapping at 125k mi due to an oiling defect in the design. Keep in mind that most people buy cars based on reputations of models that existed 7 to 10 years ago rather than what is going on today. The current batch of 93's appear to be holding up fairly well so far other than a few well documented issues (rear brake pads, early auto trans, early electrical). I think the 2.0T is fairly competitively priced, not so much the aero. When I was looking in '07 I just didn't see anything that compared. At 25k mi, its been relatively problem free so far.
