Rear brake pads are fine at 32,000 miles 06 9-3 SC 2.0T Posted by Caarma [Email] (#592) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Caarma) on Wed, 8 Oct 2008 15:22:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I thought I heard grinding so I took the car in to the dealer but they said the pads were fine with 4.5 mm remaining. The dealer guys are trying to tell me that the rotors get grooved and pitted so they almost always have to replace the rotors at the same time as the pads. I'm not sure I believe why this is the case. Why should new Saab brakes be different from the ones on my 1997 Saab in this respect? He said that they found my front rotors were already grooved, but the pads are still fine up front too.
By the way, the 2009 brochures are out and I saw that the 2.0 T Sport package is just as Edmunds defined. Everything I would want is standard so that's good. I did notice that they made the rear center headrest optional which is some genuine pennypinching.
