I had the pleasure of doing this course over the weekend at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut (my home state) With my brother in law. All I can say is...wow...what a different view I have of driving after taking this pretty basic course. I've always considered myself a decent driver, but until you get behind the wheel of (in this case, a Mazda 3s, RX-8 or MX-5) and push it to the limit, you really have no idea of 2 two things:
1.) Just how LITTLE you know about accident avoidance/threshold braking
and
2.) How much you can beat the ever-living snot out of a 2009 car with less than 1,000 miles and it still purr like a kitten!
The panic braking/accident avoidance segments defintately taught me the most and put me outside of my comfort zone entirely.
I highly recommend this lowest-cost course to any driver out there, no matter your age of driving ability. There was a seasoned Porsche Club of America driver in our class as well as 3 Moms with their 18 year old daughters.
Anybody else ever done any of these? I'm eagerly awaiting the next one I take...probably the 2-day event which will allow me to enroll in the advanced class too.
