Hi,

Just wanted to post an update. In doing quite a bit of research, I was able to confirm that mobile 1 makes/supplies saab transmission fluid and the cost of the mobile 1 3309 is $4.66 a qt vs saab at $25 a qt. In addition, upon inspection of my transmission dipstick, I see that my transmission actually calls for Toyota T IV fluid as it is a Asian Warner transmission. (Which I found out is also the same exact spec as .. once again mobile 1 3309) So , what I did was dump my trans fluid which was a nasty mess.. and since I was only able to drop 3.5 qts at a time, I went way overboard and bought 14 qts of the mobile 1 3309 and dumped and filled my transmission 3 times and then filled it one last time. Each time I filled the trans , I took the car for a 15 min ride using back roads and highway and also using the paddleshifters as well as the automatic shifting to get the fresh fluid into as much as I could, to flush the trans/converter out. I noticed a 100% positive change in the shifting and no more flareups. I did notice there was quite a bit of metal flake on the trans plug magnet, really fine like toothpaste consistency.(my car has 104k and I am not certain when or if ever the fluid was changes.) I wiped the metal flake out, and did not notice any more . I am planning on changing the fluid at the 1k mark again to see how things are looking, and then where it is only 3.5 qts at under 20 bucks, I will be changing my trans fluid with every oil change going forward...
