Navigation/Radio Buttons Wearing Off

The finish on the Navigation/Radio buttons does not hold up well. Instead of a simple low cost button replacement kit the entire dash navigation/radio has to be replaced.
The ENTIRE system in my 2008 9-3 Aero has been replaced 4 times under warranty. I've spoken to Saab Customer Service but they don't seem to be aware of this as much of a problem.
Are there others like me that have experienced this problem? My car will be out of warranty in February 2012 and the GMPP extended warranty will likely consider this a cosmetic issue and won't cover replacement.
