I have 2008 9-3 Aero with V6 B284 with 80K mikes. I did the 60K service myself. Engine is very tight under hood, real pain replacing thermostat and plugs near fire wall. V6 runs much hotter than the 4 cylinder. I did not want to get another V6 because of this: I had expansion tank cap replaced, then expansion tank. coolant return from turbo was entering expansion tank at 290 Deg F and venting out of exp. tank, so I added a small radiator, looped turbo return through it, which drop temp to about 220 Deg F (about same temp as other line from engine). Just bought a 2011 9-3 vert, and I added the Hirsch ECU at dealer to get 240 HP out of the four. I knew the base 4 cylinder could not hold a candle to the V6, but the Hirsch upgrade was a good compromise. The 4 is much easier to work on (except for water pump), and parts are more plentiful and cheaper.
