stalling when slowing

I have a 2009 9-3 SportCombi, manual trans with just over 23K miles on it. For the last few days, I've noticed than when I slow down to, say 10-15 mph, to either stop or make a turn, the car stalls. It doesn't happen all the time (maybe 1/3 of the time). When I slow I always put it in neutral (I don't ride the clutch). The last couple of times i've slowed, i've watched the tach. I noticed that it seems to to drop to around 500 rpm. Sometimes it recovers (to around 900), other times it stalls. The car always has started up again immediately after the stall without a problem.
I have changed the oil and filter approx every 6K miles since buying the car new in 2009. The only other thing i've done is to replace the air filter with a K&N filter about month ago. I use a K&N in my previous Saab (a 1997 900s, non-Turbo), without any problems.
I'm not getting any CEL codes.
This happened to me once before when the car was about 6 months old for a few days, but then the problem disappeared, not to occur again until now.
Could it be something as simple as bad gas?
Thanks,
Mike.
