Hello all,

I just got the word from my mechanic that my Viggen that I've owned since new, off the lot, now has a burnt exhaust valve. Their estimate to pull the head, have it tested, replace the valves and reinstall is $3500.

I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on the repair bill and wondering what you guys might be able think of all my options.

1) Pay the bill
2) Donate the car to charity as-is
3) Find a more reasonable repair option
4) Sell the car to a Saab enthusiest who wants a Viggen
5) ?????

I really don't want to junk this thing. It's in otherwise very good condition. Not a dent on it. Not even a door ding. In the past two years I've replaced the water pump, shocks and wheels. The only things really showing it's age is the drivers seat and some rattles. Otherwise totally stock and loved.

I'm in Norther California close to Oakland. Anyone have any ideas about where to go or what to do?
