The key is designed to come in and out of the fob. Just do it. You will then see if the two parts are identical.
If so, just order another fob, as did I, and then see a dealer or indy who has the Tech 2 computer hookup. Take all keys and fobs you have.
DO NOT HESITATE. In order for the dealer to add or subtract keys from the car's computer, there must be at least one working key that is already programmed into the car. If none of the keys that you have are in the car's computer, then the only procedure is to remove the car's security computer and replace the computer. Giant hassle, giant delay and giant bucks.
Prudence says you better have more than one working key. I keep three.
