I have an 06 and love it.
I can honestly say that after test driving many new cars, and considerably more expensive cars, I still very much love my 06 Aero. I find the size perfect and the V6 is really nice. The headlights are the best I've ever seen on a car at this price point. Everyone has a scuffed air dam. Mine was scuffed just from test drives when I bought it at 300 miles, got an extra $300 off for that.
The only issues I have had was the following:
1. expansion tank replaced under warranty
2. transmission hiccup under certain loads, usually between firsts and second (was very annoying at toll booths for example) - happens very rarely, used to happen more often then the dealer did a software update which has almost fully eliminated it.
3. rough idle (rare - about 1 in 40 starts). Either giving significant throttle or stopping and restarting the problem goes away. Still trying to pin down this problem some suggest coils while some suggest a compression issue.
Other than that it has been great. Have about 50K miles now. I have never used the extended warranty yet and only have a year left on that.
I proactively replaced the battery at 7 years old as well as brake fluid flush and transmission flush about a year ago just due to age. Oil changes regularly at 5K miles. Replaced original tires (pretty poor performance out of those) and still on original brakes. I only use premium gas.
Good luck!
