You will hear plenty of horror stories about any car you look at, because theyre all just pieces of metal that break down sooner or later. I have a 2004 9-3 now with 135k miles. I bought it with 80k on the clock. Overall been a very solid car to have in college. Its been through long road trips and I sometimes drive it 600 miles a week. Ive had to replace the water pump at 90k miles, and the CIM unit ($800 repair) at 120k. Other than that its been a solid car, very nice inside, rides well, yet its fuel efficient. The turbo power is awesome. As long as it has been maintained by a Saab dealer or indep shop, then you should be good.
