I was told the car did not crank, so it's good to rule out the CPS. Agree with the indicator lights not being much help as they would be lit when the car is turned to "On" and the engine is not running. The original Saab/GM battery was replaced a couple months ago, but that doesn't always mean that it's good.
The car started fine for me when I drove it to/from work and errands at lunchtime on Wednesday. I'm thinking it might be an ISM or NSS that might be going bad. We bought the car with 42k miles so their might have been something spilled in the ignition switch by the previous owner. There was a small bit of coffee/soda residue under the smart slot when I gave the car a good cleaning last year.
