I had ordered replacement SAAB branded wipers for both of our daily drivers. Of the five wipers ordered and received, four fit properly. The only one which would not fit was the 9-3SC Passenger side, because the locking block which fits inside the hook end of the arm was too short to engage both the end of the hook and the locking hole. The wiper slid freely on the arm and would certainly have come loose in use.
The SAAB branded wiper with spoiler for the driver's position is indeed 23 inches long. The Valeo P/N is #800239 or 800-23-9. Valeo's SWF style for European cars (800), 23 inches long, with the long length spoiler (9). A 22-inch wiper will work, as that is the only length commonly found from the typical wiper brands. I used Bosch 22-inch single beam style previously for both wiper positions.
The old SAAB single beam wipers on my '08 9-5 Aero were a bear to remove! No problem undoing the locking tab but the wipers would not slide off the arms! I finally resorted to using a small hammer to tap the wiper a 1/4-inch or less in the desired direction, then they came off easily. Apparently the nose of the arm gets 'crudded' into the recess of the locking block and will not come out without some additional encouragement.
