Parasitic draw issues

I have a 2009 9-3 V6 Aero AWD (93 k miles) that has been having issues with ignition switch module failing to release the key combined with draining the battery. I tracked the parasitic draw to fuse 2 in the dashboard fuse box (Steering column unit; ignition switch - 5A). With the car off and not locked the current draw was about 170 mA which is about 4 times the maximum listed in the WIS. After pulling the fuse, the current dropped to about 6 mA. My indy's opinion was that the ISM should be replaced and he rebuilt it using the available kit. My first check of the current draw after the repair showed about 6 mA, but the battery drain problem persisted. Strangely, the resting current draw depended on how the car reached the resting state. With doors unlocked the resting current was about 150 mA and did not change during the 30 minutes that I observed it. But if I locked the doors, the resting current was 6 mA. I redid the test with the security system active by closing the hood and relocking the doors, and the current remained at 6 mA. The battery is about 1 year old, but has gone through several deep drains over the past 6 months.
What is it about having the doors unlocked that might be causing the parasitic draw? Does anyone have an idea of where to look next?
Regards,
Ed W
