Thanks for the info, looks like the ISM assembly #12801010 is no longer available but a rebuild kit is #32031815 about $130 from AutohauseAZ, SAAB parts depot, and/or eEuroparts. Has anyone tried to spray contact cleaner in to the key hole? What is the chance of pulling it out and just cleaning...looks like several hours to remove & reinstall. Would hate to take it apart & put it back in to find it still does not work correctly or it is worse than now.
My 5 year old grandson was playing with every button & switch (key out of the car) and was able to turn on the radio. Parked the car for 10 days (dam covid) to find the battery was down to 11 volts... no start!
I the car on the web, drove 6 hours, one way, to buy this car from a small dealer in Roy UT. $8400 with 59K miles & clean, but the battery was low at the lot, he gave me $100 off for a new battery. I bet that the ISM is why the battery was weak on the dealers lot.
I love this car more than my wife's 03 9-5 Aero, she can not put her (car's)top down!
In the few months I have the car, I replace the spring "thing" that folds the storage unit in the trunk (thanks for the help from SAABNET), valve cover gasket, plugs, coil packs, trany fluid change (automatic), stage one tune ECM & full clay bar detail. Repaired the cracks in the leather seats with dye from the Seat Doctor.
