What was happening with that headlight before this, to necessitate having a shop look at it? We need to know more about what's going on here.
If the lights were staying on with the car off, or other strange behaviors, that'd lead one to look at the UEC (underhood electrical center--the fuse and relay panel) being a potential issue.
If it were an actual ground issue, it could be wiring, or perhaps a bad ignitor or HID control module. To get at the headlight module the headlight assembly comes out, which means the bumper cover comes off (it's not that difficult to remove). That module is bolted into the bottom or inside of the headlight assembly--can't remember exactly which at moment.
I understand it's possible to switch over to halogen light assemblies, as well. Again, the bumper cover comes off. In the case of UEC replacement or re-coding the car to tell it that you have halogen low beams, you'll need to lay hands on a Tech2 with security access (or have someone do that for you).
Hope this helps.
