Not sure what VCI number is? Haven't really heard that term before in Saab lingo.
Are you trying to do an Add of the ECM or a SPS of the ECM? And is it new or used and if used, is it from exact year/engine/transmission car?
The part number alone on the back of ECM is not good enough to go by with used units. You need to hook it up to the harness and decode VIN to see if it is an exact match before you run the Add command. After the Add command, the ECM takes the VIN of the car you are working on and old data info is lost.
And also, is it a 9-3 or a 9-5 as you wrote in the header?
