To answer my own question, in case it helps anyone else. This did fit ok even though the tensioner looks quite different.
From a bit of googling airbags etc. seem to have a very standard connector, presumably Takata. The connector shell looks quite different to the mating part in the assembly.
The trick to getting it off is to gently pry up the yellow tab in the center.
The new connector location needs a slightly longer wire run but there is plenty of slack.
Overall an easy job.
