Keys Stopped working
Posted by Trent Wilson [Email] (more from Trent Wilson) on Mon, 22 Mar 2021 09:46:05
I have a 2006 SAAB 9-3 2.0T Automatic. All my keys stopped working. (2 sets) By this I mean the keys do not get recognized when put into the ignition. They still pop the trunk and open the door locks, but will not allow me to turn the key to start or run position. I get a message on the SID "Key not accepted contact SAAB dealer" When put in the ignition the "clicks" that I used to hear are no longer there. Steering column is unlocked surprisingly with key in or out of ignition.
I've tried: New Fob batteries, Disconnected car battery overnight, replaced ignition circuit board (Aftermarket I have since put original SAAB board back in) cleaned/checked all wiring connection/pins, checked car battery.
At a loss what to do next. I do not own a Tech 2. Anyone else have similar issues? I am thinking CIM.
Thanks in advance.
