Hedin, the Saab parts company, is working to make available a “Kenwood Entertainment System” for the 2007-2011 9-3 and the 2006-2009 9-5 that will provide Bluetooth capabilities, navigation, rear backup camera, and Internet through your connected phone with the usual Apple and Android interfaces. The Kenwood system will be a version of a Kenwood unit already available however Hedin will provide the connectivity for “plug and play” installation as well as a bezel for the finishing touch. It will replace the existing radio in the car. While this will be considerably more expensive than what you are looking for, the additional functionality may make it of interest. I would also think this Kenwood unit could be transferred between Saabs of those models and years making it possible to take it with you if you replace a car. This may make our aging SAABs feel a little more up-to-date, if that is desirable.
