The cases for the key are pretty available. Might be worth trying this first if the buttons work with the case off.

If you just have one key and it fails then replacement of the whole steering module is needed. This is expensive! Best to always have two working keys.

A tech2 with security access is needed to program new keys. A local member may be able to help. It is very quick to do. If you are going to keep the car it may be worth just buying a clone tech2. Getting the security access to work is always a bit of an adventure.

I was not able to program a cheap key from Ebay so had to go with more expensive OEM.
