when trying to start on a steep incline. Other than that, it adds weight (increases stopping time). I have a 4WD truck and a Saab. I prefer the Saab in the snow, although the 4WD truck has great clearance, so I'll drive it when it really snows hard. The Viggen tends to plow through the snow in those instances.
So far, I've been stuck once in my Viggen, and that was when another FWD car with terrible tires (I use snows) was sliding toward me on a hill and a 4WD truck cut in between us, forcing me to stop. I had to back down the hill, then go up it, and had no problems.
