I had S-03's on my 1996 900SET (Speedparts ECU, mods, etc) and they were lovely, excellent tires in my SoCal climate. With regular rotation, they lasted a bit short of 20k miles. When I passed that car to my son last summer, I put on a set of Kumho 712's which seem a pretty good cost/benefit compromise at less than half the price of the Bridgestones (under $400 vs. over $800 a set all in). After about 8k, Anders just rotated them because he said the fronts were showing much more wear.
The P-Zeros on my 2004 Aero, as mentioned previously, are almost (literally) bald after 9500 miles and the dealer is replacing them NQA under the Pirelli warranty. Must have been a factory batch that wore prematurely? The rears still have a lot of tread. I have to say I am seeing the ESP light quite frequently these days with "slicks" up front.
My amateur advice would be, for these summer performance tires, buy the best you can afford and rotate them at every (5k) oil change.
/Geoff
