Sounds like my 99MY 9-5 Wagon, at low speed, when you turn the steering wheel, it feels like it is a manual and I haven`t clutched properly.
The problem has been around for a while, and seems to be gradually getting worse. My wife drives it on a daily basis, and she pointed it out the other day.
Since I just did the serpentine belt change, I was wondering if it had something to do with my power steering unit, too. But all the fluids were replaced at that service, and there are no puddles on the ground and the level in the reservoir is fine.
I was about to post about it, but you beat me to it!
My concern is that the squirrel noise from the starboard side of my engine is the tensioner arm about to collapse. I can see it vibrating at idle speed, and I hear the whine of an unhappy bearing somewhere. Could it be that the belt is slipping, making the power steering less effective?
