1) Relatively inexpensive, only $45 for a new one.
2) Time consuming to remove as you have to remove the engine mount, remove the serpentine belt, remove the top idler pulley, remove the tensioner assembly (another joy in itself), then remove this pulley.
3) Next to impossible to reinstall, just one mm less of clearance and you would have to pull the engine. Don't drop the parts into the frame openings!
4) The short belt option has made replacing this part an obsolete activity; priceless.
