We usually run 87 regular octane in both of our Aeros (2003 and 2004). I ran premium in our wagon when I first bought it but didn't notice any difference in fuel economy or performance. I think tire pressure and load has more of an effect on fuel economy than octane, at least from 87 to 91 octane.
We ran my wife's 1996 Saab 900S on regular for 7 years and 100K+ miles without any fuel additives and it ran great. But it wasn't a turbo.
FWTW, I asked the mechanic responsible for the cars at the Aero Academy what they ran in their cars. He told me "premium gas, any brand....it all comes out of the same pipeline".
