Thanks Tom. I wanted it to look at factory as possible. I prefer Sirius over XM or I would have bought the Saab XM kit. This is pretty close. I have Sirius via Dish Network so I didin't need both. I had a PNP for a while but got tired of "oh, I forgot my radio" once in the car -- just turn the car on and satellite is running.
I've been fine with the FM modulator and I'm pretty picky about sound quality. It's a trade off to keep the factory head unit which I feel needs to stay in to keep the high-end Euro look. I also put in a cassette adapter and ran the wire under the radio when I had the head unit out. Basically the wire runs between the radio and ACC. The wire is thin enough to fit in the thin gap. Yes, it does come out of the radio and loop down 2" but it isn't bad. I have yet to listen to it though -- need a phono to RCA plug first.
If you try the AUX hack, post your results. I also gooled and found someone who patched into the CD changer wire. The only problem is you have to have a changer plugged in and run blank CDs (a CDR recorded with 80 minutes of blank) for the handshake to work.
IanC, sorry to get off track.
