I tend to be skeptical of things that are dramatically cheaper than the norm, but in this case I have had an interesting experience with brakes. My car, a 2002 Aero auto, started out factory stock,and at about 9000 miles, I had EBC Green Stuff pads installed,mainly to combat the dust, which was horrible with the stock pads. By about 45 K miles, I had significant pulsations from the fronts ,which turned out to be rotor runout related. There are some who have cited a great article on the stoptech web site that talks about the way chemical deposits on the rotors can do this ( called cementites), and while it was great reading,it turned out to be mostly theoretical. I went with new EBC pads and new OEM Saab rotors at 55 K miles,and again, after about 30 K miles on them, the fronts developed the same problem. at my last brake job, at 91 K, Went with the 2005 style Saab pads and new Saab rotors. Too early to tell if this rotor runout problem might have been caused by the EBC pads, but right now,that's my theory.I have owned about 35 cars in the last 35 years, and have never before had to replace or even service a rotor. Always pads only. I definitely can tell you that the new style Saab pads have less dust than even the EBC pads. Hope this is usefull information in making any choices for your materials.
