Leaking Engine Coolant

The other day, my 2003 9-5 SID "Fill Coolant" light came on. I took it promptly to my dealer who noticed a leak near the rear of the engine compartment (firewall?). Dealer didn't have an appointment available for 3 weeks or so. Provided it keep an eye on the level and top it off with distilled water as needed, can I wait without further damaging the car? Yes, I noticed a smoky, sweet smell whenever got out of the car after a drive (like burnt marshmallows) and this past weekend, I noticed a puddle (greenish) under the car, center towards the right front passenger wheel. The burning smell seems to be stronger when I use the air conditioning and drive more aggressively, but I could be wrong about this. Thanks guys.
