At $5k you're OK.. Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Tue, 13 Sep 2005 14:06:57 In Reply to: should i buy a '99 9-5 aero w. 115k on it., mike curylo, Tue, 13 Sep 2005 07:08:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm concerned about the modey year. There was no 1999 9-5 Aero for the USA, only a 2000. So if it's a '99 than $5k is all the money, but if it's really an Aero and a 2000, then $6k is cheap, CHEAP. What's the VIN? That defines the model year, not the production date.
Any older highlinelike a BMW, Benz or Saab can need serious cash for a big problem. On the other hand 115k miles isn't anywhere near where things wear out, the car if well cared for should look relatively new. The Japanese sourced Aisin Warner tranny in 9-5's has been bulletproof. Who has been doing the maintenance? I'd wanna' talk to them. You've got a 120k service due soon, $400 to $700, and that kind of maintenance is even more important aon a 100k plus car.
