Prolonged Cold Engine Cranking (semi-long one)

Since about two months now, my 1999 9-5 does not start right after I turn the ignition key (as it did always before). This happens only after it stands still overnight. I have to crank the engine for about 3 to five seconds before it (kind of reluctantly) starts. I have no problem to re-start the engine with an immediate response once it was started cold.
I had the DI cassette replaced 6 months ago and talked to the dealer about this prolonged phenomenon. He is suggesting faulty "coolant temperature sensor"...
I have quite recently installed new spark plugs (NGK BCPR6ES) so should not be the problem. (prior to that I also used the colder BCPR7ES and experienced other problems, ie. negatively affected drivability while accelerating)
I measured the resistance of the coolant temperature sensor and it was within the tolerance (2.43 kOhm by approx. 15 degrees Celsius). I did not measure the value for higher coolant temperatures as this, in my view, does not have any bearing on the cold starting problem.
I am also considering replacing the crankshaft position sensor but my dealer means that if this one is faulty, I could not start the engine at all. (?)
Please, can anyone provide some suggestions as to what systems/components I can narrow down the problem to?
Thanks a lot in advance.
