Keep in mind that it might be politics involved in that they don't know.
Saab dealers (and all other dealers too) cannot acknowledge that a problem is present if the higher authorities have not condone it.
They might have all the information but if they would go out and actively suggest for these parts to be replaced on a regular basis it would be people wondering why that is needed and start to investigate.
I bet it is many V6 engines that do make it to 120K miles without the bearings going bad, but that doesn't help the poor souls that lost the engine at 70K or 80 K or whatever mileage before 120K and then hearing the standard frase from the dealer that, sorry, it was not the belt that broke but the tensioner pulley. And since we only replaced the belt at 60K it is not under warranty.
