Dealer DIC Cost - $750 - Help

My 99 9-5 wagon (Manual) just had its ignition cassette go (61K). Stalled in the middle of a large and busy intersection (fun trying to get our kids safely out of the car).
I have asked SAAB USA to cover this (all service has been done by the dealer to date). Noted the NHTSA's investigation(PE 05-017) and recall campaign number (05V399000) for the DIC. Although GM is only recalling 2000-2002 for my make, the failure rate on the '99s is just as bad even though the pre-2000 DIC seems to be slightly different version.
Here's the QUESTION: Dealer (who will remain nameless for now) wants $750 to replace. Parts can't be more than $250-$275 (see eEuroparts.com), and from what I can see from this BB that it is low labor to replace. What is "reasonable" for a dealer to charge, and what is reasonable for an independent?
Many thanks, Brad
