The standard rear shocks are gas charged.... I have to assume the Aero rear shocks are too. From my failed attempt at a D-I-Y rear shock change, I can attest that the shocks have to be compressed to be installed. And this is with the car up on stands and the suspension weight stretching the rear springs to their full length!
Based on this observation, I suspect that a failed seal in a rear shock, one small enough to allow the gas to escape but not any tell-tale oil, would allow the rear suspension to sag.
Just a suspicion. How new are your shocks? I knew my rears needed to be changed when the rear-end would chatter on bumps in a tight curve - such as expressway exit ramps. Did you notice a similar symptom prior to, or accompanying the sagging?
