Checked the Haynes Manual and unfortunately, it is not detailed enough to have the subject covered. There is however, a section on removal of drive shaft which I summarised below and i hope this will be useful. There is no mention of bearing removal or stuff like that.
a) use small chisel to free metal dust cover
b) remove it from the hub flange
c) with an assistant depressing the brake, loosen the hub nut and unscrew it completely
d) removing the driveshaft from the splines in the hub
e) the shaft can now be removed from the transmission
Not sure if the wheel bearings can now be accessed and removed using an extractor... may be this should be left to the professional, as someone has suggested.
