We have seen posts from others were the dealer WOULD NOT cover engine repairs since it was the PULLEY that broke and not the belt. And since they did replace the belt at 60K as for what the warranty book says, they were not liable for the engine damage resulting from a broken pulley after that.
I bet it is many V6 engines that do make it to 120K before the pulley needs to be replace but, do you feel lucky?
Also, dealers cannot suggest replacing the pulley setup on a regular basis at 60K since that would raise red flags at the Saab head quarter and also maybe start a movement of having the pulleys included in a service bulletin as for what they did with the NG900/9000.
