I have an '01 wagon with the 4 cylinder engine. There is plenty of power, particularly if you run premium fuel. The engine electronics change the timing to match the octane so as the octane decreases the amount of power also decreases. I usually run "plus" in the car and the power is more than enough for everyday driving. When we take a trip with 4 adults plus gear I run premium to get the maximum power especially when cruising at 70+ mph.
