I bought a policy with Ultimate Warranty Corp. underwritten by Capital Assurance Group. A lease return Borker where I bought the car, as a competitive advantage, sells the warranty at cost - that is, no mark up (or they have a heck of a deal with a master agent). I paid $1500 for 7 year from date of purchase, 125,000 odometer 0 deductable. You can bet that if they don't pay, their name will be well slandered on the Internet. 'Ultimate', despite the cheezy name and Capital Assurance, came up clean on Google. The Saab Dealer tried to sell me a warrantee with another car that I was considering for 2300 dollars and I found that the underwriter had declared bankruptcy - be careful and google them hard.
Read the exclusion list and read this board - make sure that the warantee does not exclude turbos and throttle bodies (mine excluded throttle bodies) or DICs and whatever else worries you.
Find an Indie that works with insurance. Ask your Indie who pays out best. Play by the rules - that is, always make the claim before having the work done.
Anyway, they replaced a noisy water pump and broken tranny mount (while I was having scheduled maintenance - while the engine was lowered, I replaced pulleys just-in-case and saved money) No questions asked, they swallowed about 600 dollars and subsidized my pulley work.
Other than that the car has been very reliable.
