The OEM tires were Michelin MXV4's on my 2000lpt. I replaced these with Toyo Proxes FZ4's when the Michelins wore out. The Toyos were the loudest tires I have ever had (louder than my dedicated winter tires) and when they wore out last fall, I replaced them with Cooper Lifeliner SLE Sports.

I had two months (5,000 miles) of use on the Coopers before installing my dedicated winter tires, but I was/am very happy with them. They are P225/50WR16's. Quiet, grippy in dry and wet, no tracking, listed as capable in ocassional snow, UTOG rating of 360 AA A, and inexpensive too!

Unfortunately for me, Cooper has since discontinued this tire. It appears their replacement is the Cooper Zeon A/S Sport, it is rated as 400 AA A. These tires are advertised with a factory supported 45 day free trial. Might be worth checking out - if you don't like them, you get your money back. Things don't get better than that with tires!
