I did the next-to-last PCV mod because I was trying to be proactive, live & learn.
That said, I just did the final mod. The box was cheap enough, $10 - but the hose wasn't - $25. Considered just splicing the old hose together with a plastic connector but didn't have one on hand. Instead of replacing the dipstick tube top, I just plugged off the brake bleeder nipple.
The hole in the new box looked to be the size of the original - cca 5mm, before I drilled that box out to 10mm. The latest kit comes with a new camshaft cover nipple along with the oil trap. I wonder if there's any difference between the old vent nipple and the new one or the original oil trap and the new one (besides new part no's). Seems to me they just return the PCV plumbing back to how it originally left the factory, unless there's new baffling or whatever.
Oh, well. Almost 100 bucks of mod & re(un)mod later and back to square one, I guess.
Thanks for the input & thanks for posting the TSB on your site. (I assume edition 3 of May/05 was the latest).
