I have no doubt that Saab put more thought into this than Draw-Tite. One possibility is that Saab has given more thought as to what's going to happen if the car is rear-ended when the trailer isn't there. Another is Saab may be considering what might happen is someone backs up too much when hooking up a larger trailer with brakes, or if the trailer hitch comes loose and the tongue slams into the bumper. I'd have to say that the Saab appears to be the better set up. But I'm equally confident that the Draw-tite is up to the job up to the rated weights under normal conditions. Saab, of course, has to anticipate the abnormal too.
