Dealer put in wrong oil/DIC replaced

I asked the service writer to put in M1 OW40 and he wrote the order up that way. I noticed later that the bill indicated they put in 5W 30. When I called he said Saab doesn't require OW 40 and besides they didn't have any in stock. I replied that it would have been a good idea to tell me that. They did offer to drain and do it again. My question is how big a difference is it. I know OW 40 deals with more extremes, but is it that big of a deal. I live in Wisconsin and drive a 2001 9-5 lpt. On a positive note, they did replace my DIC before I received my letter from Saab.
