The receipt was hand written, not from printer via computer. I too am suspicious of the wrong tranny fluid that caused the tranny failure.
When I bought this vehicle in October 2004, I have checked all fluids, test drive, shifted to neutral while cruising to detect any noice if any,
fast braking without touching steering wheel and all, I found no fault of any. Then I have major service on September 2005. Frankly, when the fluid was rather fresh when I bought it and changed it 9 months later by indy, I am still scratching my head wondering what the heck went wrong.
Let me tell you a story. When I bought my first car, Mazda 626 in 1986, I didn't know a thing. I actually asked the dealer if its ok to change the oil at 5900 miles instead of the 6000(don't laugh at me SWEDECAR). To make the story short, the indy who did the fluid changes had put in some dirt in brake reservoir. Shortly thereafter, the wheel cylinder failed and he wanted $350 to change the same. I bought a Hanes instead and did it myself for less than $30. This was how I started the DIY, the basic stuff. I am not speculating the Saab indy is doing the same but I do want to know what went wrong and Dextron 2 could be it. I know full well that frequent fluid changes are the only way to keep engine, tranny and brake components from breaking down before their time.
Thanks again for your invaluable input. I couldn't get more of it if you have more.
