I have an '01 aero with the auto trans. It has 77K miles on it and I drive 50 miles each way to work on the interstate. Using 91 octane gas and keeping it under 75 mph with the cruise control on, I consistently get 32 - 35 MPG, which means that I can get a full week's worth of commuting on one tank of gas. Last week, I snuck behind a semi trailer and draughted him for about 20 miles. He didn't like that but my mileage was 37 MPG.

Throw any amount of city driving into the equation and the mileage drops to 30 (+/-. Around town I get anywhere between 25 (on the good side) and 18 (really bad)MPG. I don't drive aggressively but am not afraid to fully utilize the turbo when needed. I am sure that if I drove the way I did a few years ago, mileage would be mid 20's at best.
