Benjamin, consider yourself lucky, since you will not be paying the extraordinary $$ it takes to remedy this situation. Sounds like you need timing, balance shaft chains and all the bits at the very least, with sump dropped and cleaned, and bottom end spec'd to see if bearings are still good. If bearings spec ok, that is it. If not, replacement of short block and head cleaning is then in order. The above sequence is directly from a TSB. As long as this is done properly, and you do the right things with followup maintenance , there is no reason why you should not enjoy many miles of goodness. I had similar problems with 01 Aero, but at 85k miles, and I was SOL for SAAB assistance. Not quite finished yet, but I feel confident the car will be fine when I am. It will be interesting reading how you make out. Good luck and Regards, Tom S.
