Yes, the oil drain plug head is soft, you're not the first one here with that problem, you have plenty of company, just read through some of the posts here when you have the time. Yes, chisel has been mentioned before as well, the dealer guy seemed to know what to do, probably not his first.
I presume you have a 6-point socket for the drain plug. If not, go get a really nice 6-point socket from Sears, maybe one of those Met Wrench socket where they claim it has a better leverage. Also get half a dozen of oil filters (cheaper by a dozen ??), an extra oil drain plugs and a couple of washers next time you wander around eEuropart 8-). Buy whatever oil in bulk when they're on sale at Walmart or autoxxxx whatever.
If the oil has been changed recently, albeit only semi-synthetic, you would be fine for a while. If you just want to do all synthetic yourself, it's better to find out that you can't unscrewed the drain plug now than later 8-).
Enjoy the 9-5 Aero, it's quite a different car than the 9K Aero.
